Sauid Arabia's Mossad Aldossary, aka, Msdossary, has won the FIFA eWorld Cup in London today by beating Belgium's Steffano Pina in the final 4-0 at the O2 Arena.

The competition saw 32 of the world’s best FIFA players, whittled down from an original of 20 million, 16 on Xbox and 16 on Playstation, battle it out for a chance to call themselves world champion.

Last year’s tournament was won by Gorrilla, but he fell in the quarter-finals this week, leaving the way open for another to take the title.

It was Msdossary who stepped up to replace him, comfortably winning the final after he dispatched his semi-final opponent by an even greater score line, 8-3.

As part of his prize Msdossary takes home a whopping cheque for $250,000 (£191,000/€214,000).

The overall prize fund for the tournament was more than $400,000 (£305,000/€343,000).

He will also now be invited to The Best FIFA Football Awards.

"This win makes up for all the hard work and dedication me and my team have put into this," Msdossary said.

"It is fantastic to see competitive FIFA gaming grow, but this is nothing I could have ever imagined.

"Winning the FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final and becoming world champion is a dream come true for me, my friends, family and supporters.

"To get the opportunity to win in front of a live audience this big is absolutely unbelievable. I

" am truly lost for words in this moment.”

Speaking about the tournament, Jean-Francois Pathy, FIFA director of marketing services, said: "The FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final 2018 provided an outstanding opportunity to drive forward the professionalization of competitive FIFA gaming.

"This year’s landmark event has experienced advanced levels of growth and has played a key role in engaging new players, fans and audiences on both digital and traditional platforms.

"As the wider ecosystem continues to develop, FIFA gaming is playing a key role in encouraging more young people and the wider public around the world to play football- either virtually or in person.

"I would like to thank all our partners for their support, particularly EA SPORTS, who play a significant role in the success and further development of football through competitive FIFA gaming."
