The Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) is to host sport administration courses in the African nation.

They will be designed to provide sports administrators with the skills to operate efficiently at their organisations.

Executive Board members at governing bodies, as well as LNOC staff and stakeholders, are expected to take part alongside volunteers.

The aim is to ensure a better standard of sports governance in Lesotho.

Lesotho's major sporting event this year was the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The country sent a team of 20 athletes to the Australian city, where they competed in athletics, boxing, cycling and weightlifting.

They did not take home a medal, although Lerato Sechele narrowly missed out after finishing fourth in the women's triple jump.

The country has won three Commonwealth Games medals in its history, one of each colour.

Their sole gold came courtesy of Thabiso Moqhali in the men's marathon at Kuala Lumpur 1998.

No athlete from Lesotho has yet won an Olympic medal.
