The International Canoe Federation (ICF) Canoe Slalom World Cup Final qualifying rounds got underway at La Seu D’Urgell in Spain.

Brazil's Ana Satila lit up the women's qualifying, taking top spot in the K1 event and second place in the C1.

Two-time Olympian Satila posted a time of 103.15sec which edged Australia's Jessica Fox into second in the K1, just 0.05 behind.

Fox has only been beaten once this year.

Home favourite Maialen Chourraut qualified third in 103.93.

Great Britain's Mallory Franklin qualified for the K1 event in 109.08 but impressed most in the C1 event.

Defending champion Franklin posted a time of 112.05 to qualify quickest, a full 2.50 quicker than Satila.

Fellow Britain Kimberley Woods was third, trailing by 2.86.

Fox, who remains unbeaten this year in the C1 category, qualified 11th quickest.

In the men's events, Britain's David Florence qualified top in the C1 event ahead of the defending World Cup champion, Sideris Tasiadis.

Florence finished with a time of 100.55, with Germany's Tasiadis finishing in 101.32.

Ryan Westley of Britain was third quickest but only 1.04 behind, while defending Olympic champion Denis Gargaud Chanut of France was fourth, finishing in 101.85.

France's Boris Neveu qualified top of the K1 event ahead of 2018 World Cup leader, Czech Jiri Prskavec.

Neveu posted a time of 95.17 with Prskavec only 0.04 behind and Austria's Lucien Delfour only 0.00 back in third.
