The opening night of the 2018 Concacaf Women's Championship in Cary, North Carolina saw Panama and the United States beat Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico respectively. 

Both Group A games took place at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park.

Panama beat Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 to record only their second win in the competition's history. 

Marta Cox scored the opener for Panama, with Kenia Rangel and Erika Hernandez rounding off the scoring.

USA eased past Mexico, beating them 6-0.

Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan scored two goals each, with Julie Ertz and Tobin Heath also getting on the score sheet. 

The Americans are now leading Group A on goal difference. 

The action continues tomorrow with Group B, when Costa Rica play Cuba and Canada play Jamaica in Edinburg, Texas.
