Britain's Richard Kruse won gold in the men's foil final at the International Fencing Federation (FIE) World Cup in Bonn.

The four-time Olympian, who won World Championship silver this year, earned a 15-11 win over Andrea Cassara of Italy, having beaten France's Enzo Lefort 15-10 in the semi-final.

Nick Itkin, beaten in the other semi-final, was the second bronze medal winner for the United States.

In the first of two other FIE World Cups for women, Anna Marton won the women's sabre title in Orleans in France with a 15-10 victory over Spain's Araceli Navarro.

Hungary's former world and European champion had beaten Ukraine's Alina Komashchuk 15-10 in the semi-final and the other bronze medallist was France's Caroline Queroli who lost her semi-final 15-11 to Navarro.

Meanwhile in Tallinn, Estonia, the women's epee gold was won by Hyojung Jung of South Korea, who defeated Hong Kong's Man Wai Vivian Kong 10-6 in the final.

Jung had beaten Italy's Alberta Santuccio 9-8 in her semi-final.

The second bronze medallist, beaten 4-3 by Kong, was Sun Yiwen of China.
