Hosts Czech Republic progressed to the semi-finals of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) Men's World Championships as they recorded a comfortable win over Denmark today.

With a home crowd cheering on the hosts at the O2 Arena in the Czech capital Prague, the hosys dominated the match against their Danish opponents, winning 10-1.

Today's other quarter-final saw Switzerland edge past Norway 3-2, scoring the winner in overtime.

The two semi-finalists will discover their opponents tomorrow when Sweden play Latvia and Finland meet Germany. 

The tournament also sees teams battling it out to determine their final position outside of the top eight. 

Poland comfortably defeated Japan 6-2 today at the Arena Sparta to set up a tie with Thailand to compete for 13th place in the tournament.

Thailand had beaten Singapore 4-3 earlier in the day. 

Slovakia then beat Australia 12-3 while Estonia triumphed 9-2 over Canada.

Slovakia and Estonia will now play tomorrow, alongside Australia and Canada, with each tie deciding the final positions in the tournament.
