American Julia Marino topped the standings in the women's slopestyle semi-finals as the weather again forced a rescheduling of events at the International Ski Federation Snowboard World Cup in Laax in Switzerland.

Marino's run yielded a score of 77.30 as she progressed through to tomorrow's final in style.

Seventeen-year-old Reira Iwabuchi of Japan did enough for second place, scoring 69.55 points, while Canada's reigning world champion and Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic gold medallist Laurie Blouin was third.

The top six athletes qualified for the final and the trio were joined by Silje Norendal of Norway and the Swiss duo of Sina Candrian and Celia Petrig.

The men's slopestyle semi-finals were postponed until tomorrow owing to deteriorating weather conditions in the Swiss resort.

In a statement, organisers said the decision was made because of "increasing winds throughout the day".

They had pushed the men's semi-finals back until the afternoon in the hope they could be staged today but it ultimately did not prove possible.

The men's semi-finals will be held in the morning, before the men's and women's slopestyle finals take place in the afternoon.

Halfpipe finals are set to be staged on Saturday (January 19).
