World number one and Olympic gold medallist Inna Deriglazova of Russia headlines the women's field, but will face competition from home star Alice Volpi, the current world champion and world number two.

In Barcelona, world number one and world champion Mara Navarria will compete for Italy.

Hong Kong's second-ranked Man Wai Vivian Kong also promises to be a threat.

World number one and world champion Yannick Borel is not on the start-list in Vancouver, leaving Ukraine's world number two Bogdan Nikishin as the highest-rated fencer in the draw.

Reigning Olympic champion Park Sang-young of South Korea enters as world number five.

Individual action in Turin will take place over three days.

The solo winners will be crowned within two days in Barcelona and Vancouver, with team events concluding these events on Sunday (February 10).

Barcelona hosted the 1992 Summer Olympics, with Turin and Vancouver staging the respective Winter editions in 2006 and 2010.
