Spain thrashed hosts Portugal 4-0 in the final of the inaugural UEFA Women's Futsal Euros final in Porto. 

Spain were crowned the first ever UEFA Women's Futsal Euros champions after they defeated Portugal 4-0 at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Gondomar.

The Spanish side had the game won within the first 10 minutes following goals from Mayte Mateo, captain Anita Lujan and Amelia Romero. 

Portugal failed to recover from this early onslaught and Spain sealed the victory when Vanessa Sotelo made it 4-0 in the 35th minute.

Sotelo was named player of the tournament for her significant role in the title-winning team, while Romero finished as the top scorer with three goals.

Earlier in the day, Russia beat Ukraine on penalties to take the bronze medal.

The game had finished at 2-2, with Dina Danilova and Viktoriia Lebedeva scoring for Russia and Snezhana Volovenko and Yuliya Tytova equalising for Ukraine.

Russia then won the penalty shoot out 3-2.
