Canada's Mikaël Kingsbury and France's Perrine Laffont were predictably dominant yet again as the Moguls World Cup concluded in Tazawako.

Both skiers are reigning Olympic, world and World Cup champions and triumphed in yesterday's opening singles moguls competition at the Japanese ski resort.

They left their rivals behind again today as dual moguls action took centre stage.

Kingsbury disappointed the home crown by defeating Japan's Ikuma Horishima in the big final, after coming through against Australia's Matt Graham in the last four.

Horishima defeated Benjamin Cavet to reach the final, with the Frenchman recovering from this loss to see off Graham for bronze.

Today's action was the second of three dual moguls World Cups to be held this season with Kingsbury also winning the first in Thaiwoo in China in December.

Kingsbury, who has won all but one of this season's eight World Cup legs, leads the men's overall table on 745 points and cannot be caught with just two legs left.

Cavet is second on 450.

"It was a great weekend here in Tazawako," said Kingsbury.

"It's fun to ski with less pressure and try some new stuff.

"Yesterday I did my first 1,440 in competition and today I also tried it in duals, so it's another different game.

"It's cool to push myself and feel like a little kid out there trying new tricks."

Laffont defeated Jaelin Kauf of the United States in the women's big final.

She beat Yulia Galysheva of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals, with Kauf coming through against Australia's Jakara Anthony.

The Australian then saw off Galysheva to win bronze.

Today's result was a reversal of Thaiwoo when Kauf beat Laffont in the final.

The Frenchwoman has 700 points to lead the overall standings, with Anthony second on 545.

Shymbulak in Kazakhstan will host the last two legs of the season on March 2 and 3.

Anthony is not due to travel to that event, so Laffont looks likely to win the overall title.

"It's my first back-to-back win on the World Cup, so I'm just really really happy," Laffont said.
