Hosts Thailand won the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's Qualifier Asia as they beat United Arab Emirates today to finish the tournament with an unbeaten record.

The home side won by 50 runs at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok to make it six victories from six round robin matches.

Their success means that they have earned the sole place available at the 2019 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier and the 2020 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Both the UAE and Nepal were ready to pounce should Thailand have slipped up during the last round of fixtures.

But after electing to bat and posting 107-8 from 20 overs, the hosts bowled out their opponents for just 57.

Nattakan Chantam was the Thai star with the bat, registering 35 from 30 deliveries.

Elsewhere at the same ground, Nepal posted 116-7 and then restricted winless Kuwait for 86-9 to win by 30 runs.

This only proved good enough for second place as UAE came third.

Malaysia recorded 85-6 against Hong Kong who chased down the target with a ball to spare, winning by five wickets.
