Haydy Morsy and Ahmed Elgendy won the mixed relay gold medal for hosts Egypt on the final day of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) World Cup in Cairo.

The duo managed an unrivalled total of 1,432 points at the Platinum Club.

Czech Republic's Eliska Pribylova and Ondrej Polivka took the silver medal with 1,396 points.

The bronze went to Hungary's Kamilla Reti and Illés Szabó with 1,383.

Egypt's capital was hosting the first UIPM World Cup of the season.

The next is scheduled to take place in Bulgaria's capital Sofia from April 10 to 14.

This year's UIPM World Cup Final is due to be held from June 27 to 30.

Tokyo, the host of the 2020 Olympic Games, will stage the event.
