Poor weather forced the postponement of the action in both the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard World Cups at Mammoth Mountain in California.

Skiers were due to take part in halfpipe competition with snowboarders tackling slopestyle at the American resort.

However, strong winds and poor visibility meant holding the events safely would be impossible.

It is the latest disruption to the event caused by the weather.

The ski halfpipe qualifications eventually took place on Thursday (March 7) after originally being scheduled for two days earlier.

Canada's Simon D'Artois qualified with the top score among the men, tallying 94.75.

Olympic champion Cassie Sharpe, also of Canada, led the women on 96.75.
