The 21-year-old, who became the first Norwegian to win a Nordic combined gold medal at the Nordic Ski World Championships in Seefeld last month, was ninth after the ski jumping round.

He recorded an effort of 120.5 metres, earning him 112.4 points in a weather-affected ski jumping phase.

At the Cross-Country World Cup, also held in Oslo, Alexander Bolshunov became the youngest winner of the famous 50km race at Holmenkollen as he led a Russian clean sweep of the podium.

Bolshunov clocked 2 hours 23min 49.8sec to seal a superb win ahead of Maxim Vylegzhanin and Andrey Larkov.

Vylegzhanin was second, just a second behind his compatriot, with Larkov a further 0.6 back.

The triumph for Bolshunov moved him into top spot of the overall Cross-Country World Cup standings going into the finals in Schonach.

The Russian has 1,230 points, with Johannes Høsflot Klæbo of Norway second on 1,181 points.
