The 23-year-old American record-breaker has already wrapped up the overall title for the third season in a row as well as the slalom crown for the sixth time.

Known as a specialist in the technical events, Shiffrin, the double Olympic and five-time world champion, has increased her prowess in the speed classes and is in pole position to win the giant slalom and super-G titles as well going into Soldeu.

In the former, her victory is almost certain as she leads second-placed Petra Vlhová of Slovakia by 97 points with only 100 available for a victory.

The super-G sees Shiffrin boast a 32-point lead over Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein. 

Any more victories for the American in Soldeu will see her extend her record of most race wins in a single season.

She set a new mark by reaching 15 wins at the Špindlerův Mlýn slalom in the Czech Republic on Saturday (March 10).

Andorra will also see the women's downhill decided with Austria's Nicole Schmidhofer entering with one hand on the crystal globe.

She leads by 90 points in front of compatriot Ramona Siebenhofer.

In men's events, the overall title has also already been settled with Austrian icon Marcel Hirscher having wrapped up an eighth-straight title.

The double Olympic and seven-time world champion has also assured himself of the slalom and giant slalom crowns which he has won six times each.

Downhill and super-G are still to be decided with Switzerland's Beat Feuz closing in on the former crown.

He has an 80 point lead over Dominik Paris of Italy.

Paris heads the super-G charts, with a 44 point cushion over Vincent Kriechmayr of Austria. 

Both men and women will contest downhill to start the World Cup Final tomorrow.

Super-G will take place on Thursday (March 14) before slalom on Saturday (March 16) and giant slalom on Sunday (March 17).
