Playing in Pattaya, the 2017 runners-up the UAE  advanced with a tight 3-2 win in the Main Venue before Japan brushed aside their opponents 6-0.

Both Japan and the UAE have won the tournament twice before.

In the UAE’s match, which went ahead first, Hasham Al Muntaser gave them the lead after Oman goalkeeper Amjad Al Hamdami was penalised for venturing too far with the ball in his hand.

Oman equalised through Nooh Al Zadjali in the 19th minute but fell behind again a minute later when Abbas Ali fired the UAE back in front.

Oman found a second equaliser during the final period in the 28th minute when Sami Al Bulushi deflected in an otherwise off target effort, but Beshr then sealed the win for the UAE with just two minutes remaining when he hit the back of the net with a superb volley.

Afterwards the UAE coach Mohamed Almaazmi thanked God for "everything".

"I’d also like to thank my players for everything," he said.

"This was a big match between UAE and Oman.

"It was tough and hard match between two strong teams."

For UAE the win made them the first Asian team to qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Asunción in Paraguay in November.

In the second semi-final, Japan cruised through thanks in part to two goals from Ozu Moreira, meaning they also qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, for the 10th successive time.

The other goals came from Takuya Akaguma, Takaaki Oba, Shusei Yamuichi and Naoya Matsuo.

There will now be a break in play tomorrow before both the final and a third place play-off are scheduled to go ahead on Sunday.
