The annual duel-meet event, considered a highlight of the international wrestling calendar, will see the world's top team Russia face off in Group A against Cuba, Japan and Turkey.

The second-best team based on last year's World Championships - the United States - are in Group B with Georgia, Iran and Mongolia.

The event is set to go ahead at Yakutia's Sports Training Centre. 

Russia will look to recapture the World Cup team title after the US won the 2018 World Cup on home soil in Iowa City.

That marked the first time the US had won the event since 2003.

To regain the title, however, the Russians will need to win their group and they will be without three-time world and Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev, who announced yesterday he would not be able to compete due to injury.

“Unfortunately the sport is not predictable and due to a small knee injury, I will have to miss this start," he said.

The US will face tough competition in their group from a Georgian team that boasts several former world and Olympic champions, including two-time defending heavyweight world champion Geno Petriashvili.

The first competition session will begin at 11am local time tomorrow and will be followed by an Opening Ceremony at 4pm.

The finals will take place on Sunday evening (March 17).
