The Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) presented its "CONPaas" project at the European Olympic Committees (EOC) headquarters in Rome.

CONPaas is a platform which allows National Olympic Committees (NOCs) access to a "common virtual space" packed full of information for athletes and officials.

A digital library can also be created using the platform which is being supported by the International Olympic Committee's Olympic Solidarity funding.

COE secretary general Victoria Cabezas and IT manager Manuel Pastrana introduced the initiative to the EOC.

The aim is to extend the project, described as a "living database" for the Olympic Movement, to NOCs in Europe and later the world.

Interest has already come in from more than 20 Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries including Mexico, Chile, Portugal and Andorra.

"With the concept 'togetherness makes strength', the NOC of Spain wants to prove that sharing knowledge is the key to the development and success," the EOC said.

The COE will next make a presentation on the project at the EOC Seminar in Vienna in May.

All 50 NOCs from the continent will be present.
