On the first of two days dedicated to slalom action at Stade de Pleney, Bochet won the women’s event in 1 min 43.89sec and Bauchet came out on top in the men’s competition in 1:33.08.

Germany’s Anna-Maria Rieder was the runner-up to Bochet in 1:48.99, while Canada’s Alana Ramsay came third in 1:50.82.

Finishing second behind Bauchet was Finland’s Santeri Kiiveri in 1:38.94, 0.06 seconds faster than bronze medallist Thomas Pfyl of Switzerland.

In the visually impaired events, there were wins for Austria’s Veronika Aigner and Slovakia’s Miroslav Haraus.

Aigner, guided by sister Elisabeth, beat Great Britain’s Menna Fitzpatrick, guided by Jennifer Kehoe, in the women’s race.

Aigner posted a time of 1:41.47 to triumph by a margin of 7.35 seconds.

The men’s event saw Haraus, guided by Maros Hudik, hold off two Frenchmen by clocking 1:39.75.

Thomas Civade and guide Kerwan Larmet finished second in 1:44.05, while Hyacinthe Deleplace and guide Maxime Jourdan came third in 1:44.10.

Completing today’s list of winners were Poland’s Igor Sikorski and Germany’s Anna-Lena Forster thanks to success in the men’s and women’s sitting events respectively.

Sikorski prevailed in 1:41.13 with Japan’s Taiki Morii second in 1:41.18 and Norway’s Jesper Pedersen third in 1:41.56.

Forster, meanwhile, secured victory in 1:50.49 with Japan’s Momoka Muraoka second in 1:51.91 and the United States' Laurie Stephens third in 1:56.92.
