Minsk 2019 has signed more than 30 trademark licence agreements, including for the European Games logo and slogan, organisers in Belarus claim. 

Another 20 will be signed shortly, according to Aleksei Kurman, acting deputy director general of the National Centre of Intellectual Property.

"The Centre has registered 32 trademark license agreements," Kurman said.

"Some more agreements are now undergoing the registration procedure.

"All in all, over 50 trademark agreements are to be signed by Minsk 2019."

Among the subjects affected by the agreements include the mascot and other Games related symbols.

According to Minsk 2019, registering one trademark licence agreement costs Br255 (£91/$121/€107) and takes 10 days to be processed.

Agreements have already been completed, Minsk 2019 claim, with various organisations, such as small businesses producing souvenirs and confectionaries, while more are being finalised with companies producing bottled water and non-alcoholic drinks.

Maksim Koshaida, head of marketing for Minsk 2019, added that currently the event is set to be broadcast across 125 countries worldwide, but they hope to increase that number to 160.
