Maryna Aleksiiva and Vladyslava Aleksiiva triumphed in the duet free routine as the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Artistic Swimming World Series in Alexandroupolis concluded.

The Ukrainian pair were awarded a score of 92.8000 for their performance at Axd Aquatic Center.

It proved enough to claim gold at the World Series Event, which was held under the banner of the Hellas Beetles Cup.

Italy’s Linda Cerruti and Costanza Ferro finished second on 90.1000.

Canada’s Claudia Holzner and Jacqueline Simoneau rounded off the podium on 89.1667.

The highlight routine saw the Ukrainian team claim their second gold, after they were awarded 93.3333.

Canada and host nation Greece completed the podium with 89.3333 and 84.5333, respectively.

The World Series event concluded with Israel emerging winners of the free combination.

Greece ended runners-up on 82.9667, while Hungary placed third on 77.2000.

Ukraine proved the dominant nation at the three-day competition after their squad claimed five gold medals.

Canada ended with two gold medals, while Israel, Japan and Italy claimed one title apiece.

The event was the second of nine World Series competitions.

Russian city Kazan and Japanese capital Tokyo are due to hold competitions this month.

China, United States, Canada, Spain and Hungary will stage legs of the World Series, which is set to conclude in Budapest in June.
