The four-day seminar in the Slovenian town saw discussions held over FISU’s strategic plan presented by vice-president Leonz Eder.

EUSA President Adam Roczek had opened the seminar prior to secretary general Matjaz Pecovnik providing a presentation on their latest projects and activities.

Discussions were then held regarding the legacy of university sports events and the potential impact hosting competitions, such as the Universiade, can have on cities.

The seminar also featured discussions on funding opportunities including FISU and EUSA’s development programmes, as well as non-financial support services.

Attendees divided into groups to hold discussions and share observations, EUSA stated.

The second day of the seminar also saw two separate workshops held.

Participants were able to attend sessions on volunteering or addressing social responsibility through sport.

The seminar concluded with panel discussions regarding management of university sport events, where various case studies from previous events were presented by organising committee members.

Two parallel workshops were also held.

The first was dedicated to ideas and plans for this year’s International Day of University Sport , while the second discussed media coverage at university sport events.

Seminar attendees had also spent time participating in basketball or volleyball events at a local gymnasium.

Organisers stated this was in line with the European #BeActive campaign.

The event concluded with a visit the EUSA office, which saw the opening of an expanded office space for the organisation.

The seminar was also attended by Shen Zhen, vice secretary general of the Asian University Sports Federation.

Shen had shared the organisation’s progress to FISU and EUSA.
