Defending champions Panama had to work hard to win their qualifying group at the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Beach Soccer Championship in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Panama battled back from behind in their Group B match against Trinidad & Tobago to win 4-3, with both teams assured of last-eight places.

In the group’s other game, the US Virgin Islands beat Turks and Caicos Islands 8-6.

The United States beat The Bahamas 3-2 to top Group C – again, with both teams already in the quarter-finals.

In the group’s other game, Antigua and Barbuda finished their involvement with a 9-4 win over Bonaire.

A commanding performance earned El Salvador an 8-1 win over Guadeloupe and a first-place finish in Group D.

Guadeloupe also reached the knockout stage thanks to a second-place finish in the group.

In the other game in Group D, Guyana finished on a high with a 3-2 win against Belize.
