Jordan's Olympic Committee (JOC) has announced a two-year partnership with car manufacturer Toyota which will help provide support for the development of Jordanian sport and its athletes.

The agreement will see the launch of an athlete support programme in line with Toyota’s new campaign, “Start Your Impossible”.

It will support athletes in their bid to win medals at high-level international sporting events and help them to prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The partnership is also part of Jordan’s National Strategy for Sport introduced in 2017, which aims to help athletes reach the highest level.

A signing ceremony, held at the Markazia Toyota Headquarters in Amman, was attended by JOC Secretary General Nasser Majali and general manager of Markazia Toyota, Nadim Haddad.

“We are very happy with this partnership as Toyota is one of the most outstanding Olympic partners worldwide,” Majali said.

“We appreciate their support for athletes with only one year to go until the Olympic Games in Tokyo.”

In addition, Toyota has signed sponsorship agreements with a number of athletes from Jordan’s Olympic Preparation Centre, providing cars and financial support.

“It is an honour to be working with the JOC at an exciting time for sport, especially with the next Olympic Games just around the corner," Haddad said.

Toyota is also part of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Partner Programme.
