Jamiu Kofi Salami has quit as head coach of Ghana, citing personal reasons.

He personally delivered his letter of resignation to the Ghana Baseball and Softball Federation.

Salami, who skippered the side for nine years as a player, said: "I have taken this decision not because I have problems with anybody.

"It has to do with personal issues."

Ghana hosted the first of the West African Baseball pre-qualifiers for the Baseball Africa Cup in Accra.
