Belgium's Niels Bruynseels was the victor at the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) event in Cannes.

Aboard Gancia de Muze, he finished in 34.69 seconds to win in the French city.

In second was Britain's Scott Brash in 35.66, while Germany's Daniel Deusser was third in 35.97.

 “I have no words," said Bruynseels.

"To win a Grand Prix like this means a lot to me. 

"I have to thank my horse – one of the best horses I have had in my life.”

Despite Bruynseels' triumph, the battle at the top of the overall standings remains between Deusser and Belgium’s Pieter Devos.

Devos had finished fourth in 35.97, meaning his German rival is only 12 points behind him on the leaderboard. 

Madrid in Motion, consisting of Dutch father-and-son duo Eric and Maikel van der Vleuten, won the Global Champions League event.

Miami Celtics were second, while Shanghai Swans finished third.

In the overall standings, Shanghai Swans kept hold of the lead with 145 points, while Miami Celtics have moved to second overall with 137 points.

St Tropez Pirates dropped to third after a disappointing fifth-place finish, but are just one point behind in third with 136.
