World number one Evans made it a perfect four wins out of four in Group Two by registering 3-0 victories over India's Arantxa Sanchis and Malaysia's Sook Kwan Lee at the Thai capital's Hi-End Snooker Club.

Awaiting the 11-times champion in the last 16 is Australia's Jessica Woods, who beat Hong Kong's Pui Ying Mini Chu 4-1 in the last 32 after ranking second behind defending champion and world number two Ng in Group One. 

Ng added a further two Group One victories to the two she managed yesterday, defeating England's Fran Calvert 3-0 and Woods 3-1.

Standing between her and a place in the quarter-finals is compatriot Yee Ting Cheung, who overcame England's Steph Daughtery 4-1 in the last 32 having finished second in Group Nine.

World number three Rebecca Kenna of England and world number four Nutcharut Wongharuthai of Thailand are also through having achieved second-place finishes in Groups Three and Four, respectively, and then won their last-32 matches.

Kenna was the runner-up to Thailand's Ploychompoo Laokiatphong, while Wongharuthai was beaten to top spot by India's Varshaa Sanjeev.

In the last 32, Kenna defeated India's Revanna Umadevi 4-1 and Wongharuthai overcame Hong Kong's Ho Yee Ki 4-0.

Action in Bangkok is due to continue tomorrow.

All last-16 and quarter-final ties will be held before the semi-finals and final take centre stage on Sunday (June 23).
