The final bout concluded two days of sambo action here, with a near-capacity Belarusian crowd ready to watch Rybak triumph.

He achieved world titles in 2007 and 2012, and at 40, is considered something of a veteran samboist. 

In contrast, 28-year-old Berdzenishvili had not won an international title before today, though did earn a World Championship silver medal last year. 

He now has a European Games gold, however, having thrased Rybak 6-0 in the final. 

The bronze medals went to Russia's Artem Osipenko and Serbia's Vladimir Gajić.

Georgia collected a second gold through Levan Nakhutsrishvili, who comfortably defeated Stanislav Skryabin of Russia 5-1 in the men's under-74kg.

Stsiapan Papou delighted the home crowd with bronze, with Armenia's Arsen Ghazaryan receiving the other. 

In addition to the bronze and silver from those bouts, three gold medals went Russia's way. 

Sergey Ryabov was the victor in the men's under-90kg, with Belarusian hopes crushed once again after the Russian narrowly beat Andrei Kazusionak 3-1.

Completing the podium was Georgia's Paata Ghviniashvili and Serbia's Dmitri Gerasimenko.

Diana Riabova earned Russia's second gold medal by triumphing against Maryna Zharskaya of Belarus, forcing her to tap out in the women's under-52kg final. 

Spain's Irene Diaz Vidal and Moldova's Paulina Eshanu claimed the bronze medals.

Fellow Russian Ruslan Bagdasarian then edged past Greece's Savvas Karakizidis to win the men's under-62kg final 1-0, with Genadi Chirgadze of Georgia and Ivan Aniskevich of Belarus finishing with bronzes. 

After coming so close in so many bouts, the Belarusian crowd were finally treated to a gold medal through Vera Harelikava.

She was victorious in the women's under-60kg, defeating Sabina Artemciu of Moldova by a 1-0 scoreline.

Bronze was awarded to Russia's Yana Kostenko and Spain's Yaiza Jimenez Lopez.
