The Championships are due to be held from August 1 to 4 and will see around 350 athletes from more than 50 nations competing.

Noah Malone will be viewed as one of the US's great hopes after breaking not only the 100 metres meeting record when running 10.62sec at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference in May, but also the world record of 10.66 in the T12 class for the visually impaired. 

Unfortunately for Malone there was no formal wind reading, so the record could not be ratified.

A high school senior, sprinter Malone recently won an Indiana High School Athletic Association state title.

Returning to the Junior Championships, for athletes aged 14 to 19, are Michelle Cross, Hannah Dederick, Elizabeth Floch and Sophie Munter.

Dederick won five medals at the inaugural Championships two years ago as Team USA bagged 36 medals to top the medal table.

“This talented group represents the next generation of Team USA and we cannot wait to see how they perform on the world stage,” said Cathrine Erickson, director of US Paralympics Track and Field. 

"More importantly, this is an excellent development opportunity for our younger athletes to experience the environment and level of international competition. 

"As we look ahead to Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, we’re hopeful this will prepare them for a successful path to the national team and to future Games.”
