Cuba moved into the final of the Volleyball Men’s Challenger Cup in Ljubljana with a hard-earned victory over Turkey.

They progressed 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 15-12 at the Slovenian capital's Arena Stožice and are now one victory away from qualifying for next year’s International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Nations League.

The other semi-final involved Belarus, who had progressed from their group thanks to Cuba’s defeat of Egypt, and hosts Slovenia, who had topped their group after beating Turkey.

Slovenia prevailed 21-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-18 over Belarus.

The final and third-place playoff will be held tomorrow.

The first edition of the FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup took place last year.

In the women's competition, Bulgaria sealed their place in the 2019 edition of the Volleyball Nations League, while Portugal's men won at home to take part this year.
