Lee claimed a 6-0 win over top seed Kim in the final to complete a South Korean clean sweep of the competition at Yumenoshima Archery Field.

Kim, the 2011 and 2015 world champion, survived a scare in his third round match as he fought back from 5-1 down to edge out Australian Taylor Worth by shooting a 10 in the tiebreak to remain in the tournament.

Lee beat reigning world champion and second seed Brady Ellison of the United States 6-4 in his semi-final, while Kim defeated Dutchman Sjef van den Berg by the same scoreline.

Their respective victories set up an all-South Korean gold medal match between two members of the squad which clinched the team title at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

"I thought about it as the real Olympics so that I could finish it with a more relaxed mind at the next Games,” said Lee. 

“I’ve been working very hard but I think that I was lucky at this tournament because I did not always have good scores.”

Ellison claimed the bronze medal with a 6-4 victory over Van den Berg in the third-place play-off.
