Turkey's Yigit Yalcin Citak moved ahead of Greek rival Emilios Monos to take the lead in the boys' event at the International Laser Class Association Laser Radial Youth World Championships in Canada.

Citak enjoyed another strong day of racing at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour Marina in Kingston as he finished first and fourth to leapfrog Monos into top spot.

The Turkish sailor has a total of 11 points after the first six races, a point clear of Monos who was third and sixth today.

Ireland's Tom Higgins is three points further adrift in third place.

There was also a change of leader in the girls' event as Matilda Nicholls of Britain recorded results of first and third.

Nicholls has 19 points, nine ahead of Ireland's Eve McMahon, who led going into today's racing.

McMahon lost the lead after she produced results of a discarded 14th and seventh.

Hunter Dejean of Canada remains in third on 36 points, 17 behind Nicholls.

More than 200 sailors from 32 countries are competing at the event in the Canadian city, which continues tomorrow.
