Beach wrestling action will resume tomorrow in Odessa ©UWW

More than 30 countries will be represented at the third leg of the United World Wrestling Beach Wrestling World Series in Odessa in Ukraine.

Action in the Black Sea city will begin tomorrow at Stantsiia Velykoho Fontanu Beach with two days of senior competition planned in men's and women's divisions.

On Sunday (August 11) young athletes will take centre stage with Odessa hosting the Beach Wrestling World Championships for cadets and juniors.

The All-Ukrainian Beach Wrestling Federation are organising the event with the Odessa stop of the World Series following competitions in Chaves in Portugal and at Rio de Janeiro's Olympic Park.

Women will compete at 50 kilograms, 60kg, 70kg and over-70kg and the men will compete at 70kg, 80kg, 90kg and over-90kg.

A pool format will be used to determine which wrestlers move on to fight for gold and bronze.

After the leg in Odessa, the Series Final will be held in Zagreb in Croatia from September 6 to 9.

Beach wrestling will also be held at the inaugural Association of National Olympic Committees World Beach Games in Qatar in October.

The World Series events in Chaves and Rio de Janeiro were used as qualifiers for the Games.
