Hosts Switzerland were among the four teams that booked their place in the quarter-finals as action continued today at the International Fistball Association World Championship in Winterthur.

The home nation triumphed 3-0 over Argentina at Schützenwiese Stadium to set up a last-eight encounter with Austria, 3-2 winners against Chile.

The other quarter-final decided today pits Brazil against defending champions Germany.

Both teams prevailed 3-0 today, at the expense of Italy and the United States, respectively.

Argentina, Chile, Italy and the US all progressed through to their matches with wins earlier in the day.

The Argentinians beat Namibia 3-0, while Chile defeated New Zealand 3-1, Italy overcame Denmark 3-0 and the US claimed a 3-1 victory over Czech Republic.

All eight teams will continue their campaigns tomorrow with matches scheduled between Argentina and Czech Republic, Chile and Denmark, Italy and New Zealand, and the US and Namibia.

The winners will still have the opportunity to go all the way in the tournament.
