Fans will be able to apply online until September 9 with tickets available for all sports and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

The application window covers the one-year-to-go celebrations which will be marked on August 25.

Organisers have claimed that tickets are available for "affordable prices" as they aim to encourage people to attend with their family and friends.

Seats at competitive events will be priced from ¥900 (£7.08/$8.55/€7.63) and will cost no more than ¥7,000 (£55/$67/€59).

This is part of the Organising Committee's commitment to "enhance the family atmosphere at the Paralympic Games and attract as many young spectators as possible".

Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will cost from ¥8,000 (£63/$76/€68) up to ¥150,000 (£1,200/$1,400/€1,300).

Athletics, in which Japan won 16 medals at the 2017 World Championships, including two golds, will take place at the new Olympic Stadium each day from August 28 to September 5, with tickets ranging in price from ¥2,000 (£16/$19/€17) to ¥6,500 (£51/$62/€55).

Tickets for Paralympic swimming events at Tokyo 2020 will cost between ¥2,000 (£16/$19/€17) and ¥7,000 (£55/$67/€59).

Seats for the wheelchair rugby final, a sport where Japan are world champions, will cost ¥3,200 (£25/$30/€27) and ¥4,000 (£31/$38/€34).

In wheelchair tennis, where Japan boasts the men's world number two and women's world number three, tickets will cost between ¥1,800 (£14/$17/€15) and ¥6,500 (£51/$62/€55).

The most popular events have been spread out across the Games to allow fans the chance of watching a greater amount of the major action.

Those wanting to apply need to pre-register on the Tokyo 2020 ID portal before requesting tickets on the Games' official website.

Those who are successful will be told by October 2, with payment due by October 15.

People outside of Japan cannot enter and must buy tickets through their country's authorised resellers.

Another lottery is due to be held in early 2020 before a first come, first served process in the spring.

"The Paralympic Games are an extremely family friendly event and I am hugely confident that whole generations of families will turn out to witness the spectacular sport that will be on offer at Tokyo 2020," International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons said.

Two ticket lotteries for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics have already been held in Japan.
