Sponsorship was the main theme at the recent International Ski Federation (FIS) Leader's Seminar in Pristina, the first official FIS meeting to be held in Kosovo.

The event, hosted by the Ski Federation of Kosovo, attracted more than 35 participants from 18 nations.

They discussed several topics during the seminar, including sponsorship and preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

FIS secretary general Sarah Lewis and Andreas Wenger, the organisation's head of services, updated the attendees on the work of the worldwide governing body.

The seminar included workshops, breakout sessions and presentations "designed to give participants the tools to implement sponsoring initiatives and activities back in their home countries", according to the FIS.

"This year’s FIS development programme Leader’s Seminar certainly achieved its objectives with highly positive feedback from the participants, which is the main goal," Lewis said.

"There was great engagement on a very relevant topic during the workshops with discussions continuing through the more informal settings too.

"The Ski Federation of Kosovo earned our sincerest thanks for their passionate efforts to welcome the FIS family in Pristina and contributing to the organisation of the FIS Leaders Seminar that will help grow our sport.”
