The biannual multi-sport event, held after every Southeast Asian Games involving disabled athletes from the current 11 Southeast Asia countries, is in January. 

A group of 12 officials, managers, technical officials and coaches, from Bahrain, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines took part in the World Para Athletics Competition Management Course in Manila.

The course aimed to give guidance to nations on how to organise Para athletics competitions within their countries

"We are very happy to hold the 'World Para athletics Competition Management Course' in Manila with the support of the World Para Athletics and in cooperation with NPC Philippines," APC Sports Manager Seung-Hoon Lee said.

"The overall goal of this project is to help develop Para athletes by helping and providing the necessary tools on how to organise such types of competitions and give a systematic approach.

"We hope that the participants can use the knowledge in hosting Para Athletics competitions in their countries. 

"We also hope that, in the future, this will lead to an increased number of athletes competing in para-athletics."

In the past, APC has supported athletes and delivered workshops and training courses in conjunction with World Archery and the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation.

Recently, APC in collaboration with the Japan Sports Council, Japan Paralympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee held a workshop to promote the development of women in Para sport in Asia, in Tokyo.
