Haiti cruised to a dominant victory over Suriname in their first qualification match of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship.

Group C of the Caribbean qualification process had been relocated earlier this week, amid concerns over player safety.

Haiti was due to host the group, however violent protests between police and anti-government protesters led to CONCACAF opting to move the fixtures.

The relocated group began in new host Puerto Rico today.

Haiti's players were able to put the problems back home to one side, as their team eased to victory against Suriname.

They stormed to a 10-0 victory at the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium.

Suriname will have to bounce back when they face Puerto Rico on Saturday (October 5).

The likely group decider between Puerto Rico and Haiti will be held two days later, with the group winners qualifying to the next stage of the competition.

Five teams had been due to feature in Group C, but Dominica and Grenada ultimately withdrew from the event.

Group A will continue tomorrow with Antigua and Barbuda facing the Dominican Republic, while Aruba meet St Kitts and Nevis.

Trinidad and Tobago, who have a rest day, currently top the standings after winning their first two fixtures.

Four teams currently have three points in Group B, although host Jamaica have played one fixture less than their rivals.

Jamaica, who made their Women's World Cup debut earlier this summer, face Barbados tomorrow.

Cuba will take on the US Virgin Islands, who are the only team without a victory having lost their first match to Saint Lucia.

Central American qualification also begins tomorrow, with hosts Costa Rica opening Group A against Nicaragua.

Panama host Honduras in the first Group B fixture.

Each group winner will progress to CONCACAF's Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship, with the dates and location for the finals still to be confirmed.

Canada, Mexico and the United States have already qualified for the finals.
