Adrienne Sternlicht and Bennys Legacy of the United States recorded a second straight International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Jumping World Cup win with victory in Las Vegas today.

The duo topped the standings at South Point Arena in a two-horse jump-off and were the only double-clear performers on the evening, clocking a time of 37.68sec to seal victory.

Andrew Ramsay and Stranger were faster, but a rail put them in second place with four faults in 35.90.

American Sarah Segal and New Zealand’s Uma O’Neill finished joint third after both riders recorded a single time fault in the first round with identical times of 73.39.

Sternlicht and Bennys Legacy’s win came just a week after they triumphed at the FEI Jumping World Cup in Thermal, California.

"Tonight, I mainly learned that he was super indoors," Sternlicht said of her horse, having only debuted with the 11-year-old gelding in September.

"I really had no idea how he would be.

"In some ways, I found him easier to ride inside.

"He's a horse that goes exactly the way I like to ride: strong and aggressive.

"I like to help and support the horse, and he leans on me as a rider in that capacity."

The win moves Sternlicht into third place in the North American Eastern Sub-League standings with 46 points.

Fellow Americans Brian Moggre and Elizabeth Madden are first and second, respectively.

Moggre sits on 56 points, while Madden has 49 to her name.

The top seven from the standings at the end of the 2019-2020 season will advance to the FEI Jumping World Cup Final, which will also take place in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center from April 15 to 19.

In the North American Western Sub-League, Karl Cook of the US leads the standings with 49 points, followed by Israel's Ashlee Bond with 39 and fellow American Will Simpson with 34.

The North American League resumes in Mexican city Guadalajara on January 25.
