Britain’s Ella Gibson topped the women’s compound qualification standings at the World Archery Indoor World Series in Luxembourg.

Gibson shot impressively as the GT Open 250 open began, the 19-year-old scoring 596 as she looks to make a mark on the indoor circuit.

She found the 10-ring on 56 occasions at the Guillaume Tell Strassen Archery Club, with just four arrows finding the nine-ring.

Gibson finished three points clear of Belgium’s Sarah Prieels, who secured the second seeding for the competition.

Estonia’s Lisell Jaatma completed the top three on 587.

The men’s compound event was led by Americans Tate Morgan and Paul Tedford, who both dropped just two points to end with a tally of 598.

Louis Price, another American, was level with Belgium’s Gianni Joris on 597 behind the leading duo.

A strong day for the United States team concluded with Casey Kaufoud leading the women’s recurve standings.

She scored 589 to dominate the qualification standings, with Germany’s Elena Richter and Veronika Haidn Tschalova trailing on 574 and 567.

Canada’s Crisipin Duenas earned top spot in men’s recurve qualification by scoring 595, with Germany’s Florian Kahllund second on 592.

The top three was completed by France’s Quentin Soule on 589.

The knockout stage of the competition will take begin tomorrow.
