The Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk) has become a full member of the British Paralympic Association (BPA).

DSAuk promotes and seeks to increase sport and physical recreational opportunities for people with dwarfism from grass roots to world level performance.

"I am delighted to welcome the newest member to the British Paralympic Association family," Mike Sharrock, chief executive of the BPA, said.

"Short stature athletes have played an integral role in the success of ParalympicsGB and captured the imagination of the British public.

"We look forward to working closely with DSAuk and the wider membership to help us deliver our vision: through sport, inspire a better world for disabled people."

"As President of the Dwarf Sports Association I am thrilled that the DSAuk has been given the fantastic opportunity to become a member of the British Paralympic Association," Arthur Dean, President and founder of the DSAuk, said.

"DSAuk is an amazing, unique grass roots sporting Association which changes the lives of people with dwarfism, giving those people fantastic opportunities to participate in sport on a level playing field, as well as progressing through to Paralympic competition and other opportunities that may arise in the world of disability sport.

"Together we can make a difference."
