The World Taekwondo Grand Prix Final is set to take place in Moscow over the coming two days, providing the last opportunity for vital ranking points prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The Russian capital's Dynamo Sports Palace will provide the setting for the crucial event.

Competition is across eight weight categories: men's under-58 kilograms, under-68kg, under-80kg, over-80kg, and women's under-49kg, under-57kg, under-67kg and over-67kg.

The line-up for the finals and bronze-medal contests will be determined tomorrow.

Medals will be awarded on Saturday (December 7).

World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue says the Grand Prix Final will be the ideal platform to showcase how much it has progressed as an Olympic sport.

The International Olympic Committee recognised taekwondo as an Olympic sport just over 25 years ago, on September 4 1994.

"There is much to celebrate as we look to bring an exciting and successful year to an end," Choue said.
