France beat Hungary in the team event final as action concluded at the International Fencing Federation (FIE) Women's Sabre World Cup in Salt Lake City.

The French side triumphed 45-25 to clinch top honours at Salt Palace Convention Center.

They had earlier defeated home team the United States 45-31 in the semi-finals.

The US bounced back from that loss to overcome Ukraine 45-39 in the bronze-medal match.

Hungary claimed a 45-42 win over Ukraine in the other last-four encounter.

Italy, South Korea, China and Russia completed the top eight in the final ranking.

A total of 25 teams competed in the event.

The next FIE Women's Sabre World Cup is due to take place in Athens from March 6 to 8, 2020.
