The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) held a workshop in Suva for physical education teachers in the country.

FASANOC interim President Alifereti Cawanibuka was present at the workshop in the Fijian capital of Suva, having also invited representatives of national governing bodies to share their knowledge and help the development of the teachers.

"The large turnout is encouraging, especially from primary and secondary school teachers and representatives from tertiary institutions," he said.

"The turnout from some of the national sporting federations is also inspiring for us, especially in terms of the technical expertise which would really help teachers and those involved in physical education to be better skilled to disseminate information and training."

The one-day workshop for was funded by FASANOC through an allocation from its regional grant received from the Oceania National Olympic Committees.
