Kaillie Humphries will aim to continue her 100 per cent record since switching allegiance from Canada to the United States when Winterberg hosts the first European leg of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation World Cup this weekend.

The competition in the German city also doubles as the European Championships for the four-man bobsleigh.

Double Olympic champion Humphries, who filed harrassment complaints against Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton last year and was given leave in September to compete for the new country of her choice, won both races held at the season opener in Lake Placid last month.

The 34-year-old leads the overall standings and will bid to extend her advantage when the two-woman event takes place on Saturday (January 4).

The event begins tomorrow with the first four-man World Cup bobsleigh race, before the European Championships in the discipline are held the following day.

Canadian Justin Kripps is unbeaten having won both events so far this campaign and victory for the Canadian will see him move further clear of his rivals in the race for the overall title.

Olympic champion, world Champion and defending World Cup title holder Francesco Friedrich, and European champion Johannes Lochner will be among those in contention for the continental crown.

Overall leader Jacqueline Lölling will hope to use home advantage in the women's skeleton competition, where there have been four different winners from the first four races.

The women's and men's skeleton events are scheduled for Sunday (January 5).
