ITA will manage a "tailored testing programme" at the Games, with the organisation set to use a number of paperless solutions for the first time for doping control process.

The organisation claims this will contribute to the sustainability of the third edition of the Games.

Anti-doping work will be held in collaboration with Lausanne 2020 and Anti-Doping Switzerland.

During the Games, the ITA is giving athletes an "immersive learning experience of the testing process".

This will include an anti-doping education pilot project, which will run during Youth Olympic Games International Federation (IF) Focus Days.

The focus days are part of the International Olympic Committee's Athlete Education Programme, focusing on promoting cultural exchange, new knowledge, and the development of abilities and skills for personal and career development.

ITA will set up and run the Real Sport Lab, which it claims will feature an interactive experience that enables learning through workshop-composed simulations.

Sessions have been designed to provide athletes with a first exposure to the testing process, which they will experience either during the Youth Olympic Games their careers.

The workshops are claimed to complement the testing programme.

Around two thirds of the athletes participating in the Youth Olympics are scheduled to take part in the Real Sport Lab during the Games.

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) outreach activities will also be held during the Games, with support from ITA staff.

These will take place at the Olympic Village sites in Lausanne and St Moritz.

ITA chair Valérie Fourneyron and new WADA President Witold Bańka will attend the IOC Session on Friday (January 10), where they will present an update on anti-doping.

Fourneyron will provide an update on the Lausanne 2020 anti-doping programme, as well as preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
