The International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup season for men continues this weekend, with back-to-back HS 104 competitions at Italian ski resort Val di Fiemme.

Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi comes into the event as leader of the overall FIS Ski Jumping World Cup standings, having finished fourth at the Four Hills Tournament that concluded in Bischofshofen in Austria on Monday (January 6).

He has 644 points to his name, with nearest challenger Karl Geiger of Germany on 619.

Austria's Stefan Kraft is third with 539 points, while Norway's Marius Lindvik and Poland's Dawid Kubacki are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Kubacki topped today's qualification standings with 139.7 points, fresh from clinching his first overall Four Hills Tournament title after triumphing in Bischofshofen.

Geiger finished second with 139.6 points, while fellow German Stephan Leyhe came third with 139.6.

Kobayashi, a 2019 world team large hill bronze medallist, ranked 10th. 

HS104 events are due to take place both tomorrow and on Sunday (January 12).
