As a result, Bangladesh finished top of the table and now await the second-placed team in Group D.

Rain meant that no play was possible in the third scheduled match today, the Group D meeting between Afghanistan and Canada at Ibbies Oval, Potchefstroom.

The shared points meant that Afghanistan, on five, were assured of finishing top and will thus meet Pakistan.

Afghanistan's opponents will be decided by tomorrow's final Group D match at Manguang Oval between the hosts, who are currently second with two points, and third-placed United Arab Emirates, who also have two points.

Canada, who had previously failed to register a point, will contest the Plate quarter-finals.
