World Taekwondo Europe has appointed Usman Dildar as the organisation's new technical director.

The British official will now be responsible for all technical issues related to European taekwondo events and competitions.

He has previously held roles with both World Taekwondo and British Taekwondo.

In 2017, he was appointed as the Para-taekwondo chair for Tokyo 2020.

Taekwondo is due to make its Paralympic debut at this year's Games in the Japanese capital, alongside badminton.

Dildar's new appointment was confirmed by WTE President Sakis Pragalos.

"Mr Dildar, who has also served for both World Taekwondo and British Taekwondo, possesses a great experience and knowledge of the field," WTE said. 

"Therefore he will be able to contribute the utmost towards the goals and vision of European Taekwondo.

"Taekwondo Europe congratulates Mr. Dildar for his appointment and wishes him prosperity and success towards a fascinating challenge within the taekwondo family."
