Karl Geiger of Germany triumphed at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup in the Finnish city of Lahti, closing the gap on Stefan Kraft in the standings. 

The 27-year-old scored a total of 266.4 points, followed by Kraft on 260.5. 

Austria had another skier on the podium, with Michael Hayboeck just behind his compatriot on 259.1. 

It was Geiger's second victory in Lahti, having triumphed in yesterday's team event.

Kraft remains in the lead in the World Cup standings with 1613, but Geiger has now closed the gap to 118 points. 

Dawid Kubacki of Poland is a distance off the two, currently sitting in third on 1131. 

World Cup action is set to continue in the Norwegian capital of Oslo from Friday to Sunday (March 6 to 8).
